The Alonzo Hauser Collection

We are in the process of creating as complete a catalog of the works of Alonzo Hauser as can be. The whereabouts of all of his works is a mystery that is likely never to be solved but the estate has many works; both sculptural and many "flat art" works (drawings, watercolors, paintings, sketch books  etc.). These form the basis for a catalog that is augmented by documentation of works outside the estate and submissions by those who visit this website that may have works. Please feel free to contact us if you do have something by Hauser!

The catalog is in a number of different PDF format documents related to the year and medium they were created in. Unfortunately the file sizes of these PDF's are too large to allow showing or downloading from this website and eventually we hope to release them on a DVD with pictures, slide shows, biography and the reams of press accounts that Hauser received over his lifetime.

In the meantime we have made a slide show (mov. format) of one of the catalogs that may be downloaded for your perusal. The catalog is from one year (1929) Hauser spent at the Layton Art School in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He attended that school for three years 1927-1929 before he left for Greenwich Viillage N.Y. in 1930. These works are "Date Estimated" as from 1929 but may be from any of the years 1927-29. These works are, of course, measured in inches under the dimensions field; something that was neglected to be mentioned on the front page. Enjoy and keep watching for more additions!
